Using total stations we can carry out site surveys of existing buildings to allow draughtsmen to design new extensions, survey of holding down bolts and concrete levels to make sure there isn’t any problems before erection starts. We also survey concrete cores making sure all pockets and embedment plates are in the correct positions! Once embedment plates have been surveyed we can draw up fin plate details which give all the dimensions required so fin plates can be cut to the right length and be correctly positioned and welded to the embedment plate! Once erection has started we Survey the erected steelwork for plumb, line & level & then supervise the repositioning if required to ensure that the steelwork is within the tolerances set out in the national Steelwork specification. On a lot of the jobs we go on we just do not deal with steel we quite often have to deal with pre cast concrete stairs, panels and slabs as these have to be lined and levelled to as well as the steel work!
Using the latest software we are able to plot the survey results directly on to DWG type drawings to produce accurate professional “as built drawings” that can then be submitted for handover to the main contractor.
Our hands on experience & understanding of steel frames. We are able to work with the erectors solve problems during the steel erection phase & ensure that follow on trades are able to progress (deckers /stud welders) this allows the other trades to progress.
